GNPs Interaction with the heart physiology
Currently the Gold Nanoparticles (GNPs) have great potential for biomedical applications, due to the fact that they have antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects. These effects can be further enhanced by functionalization with Glutathione, an endogenous antioxidant. However, the interaction of this nanomaterial with cardiac tissue is still little explored.

Nanocomplex based on bioconjugate-cetuximab gold nanoparticles
Cetuximab is an efficient immunotherapy agent to treat epithelial cancers. However, resistance and severe side-effects have been reported. Due to the physical-chemical properties of gold nanoparticles, in special the possibility of biomolecules conjugation on their surfaces, studies using nanocomplex based on bioconjugate-cetuximab gold nanoparticles are in progress to optimize cetuximab effects as well as decreasing its side-effects. Besides, characterization, biological effects on human cancer cells and follow up of nanocomplex stability is already in course.
